Pick-up at Tarapoto airport, check-in, welcome circle, intentions and diet guidelines.
Cleansing and first ceremony
Morning: traditional vomitivo. Evening: first ayahuasca ceremony in the maloca.
Second ceremony
Ripote at dawn, sharing circle at 11:00, rest and diet food. Second ceremony at night.
Rest day
Waterfall excursion, river swim and a walk in the Cordillera Escalera conservation area.
Third ceremony
Ripote, sharing circle, medicinal plant bath. Third ceremony at night.
Fourth ceremony
Integration morning and circle. The fourth and final ceremony at night.
Closing
Gratitude circle, integration and post-retreat diet guidance, airport transfer.

A US$500 deposit secures your place; the balance of US$1,800 is due before arrival. If screening shows participation is not advisable, the deposit is refunded in full. If you cancel, it transfers to any S.A.N.Y. retreat within 12 months.

The place
A bungalow eco-lodge on the edge of the Cordillera Escalera conservation area, 15 minutes from Tarapoto. Warm all year, high jungle, rivers and waterfalls.
The lodge is home to the Ayahuasca Museum, which Maestro Chonon Sany helped create. Direct flights Lima–Tarapoto several times a day; airport transfer included.

Ayahuasca is a strong medicine and it is not for everyone. Your place is confirmed only after a personal consultation and medical screening.

Frequently asked questions
I've never taken ayahuasca. Can I join?
Yes. Most guests come for the first time. The consultation, preparatory practices and small group exist for exactly this reason.
I take antidepressants or other medication. Can I come?
Tell us during the consultation. Some medications, including SSRIs and MAOIs, are incompatible with ayahuasca and must be tapered with your own doctor weeks in advance. It is decided case by case, and sometimes the answer is no.
Who leads the ceremonies?
Maestro Chonon Sany leads every ceremony himself. He is a medical doctor by training and has practiced Shipibo plant medicine since 2013.
What language are ceremonies and circles in?
Circles and consultations are held in Spanish, Russian and English. The maestro speaks English, and English-speaking groups are also accompanied by an interpreter; mention your language in the application.
How do I get to Tarapoto?
Fly to Lima, then take a direct flight to Tarapoto (TPP), about 1 h 15 min. We pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the end of the retreat.
What diet should I follow before the retreat?
For 1–2 weeks: no alcohol, pork, spicy food, excess salt or sugar, and no recreational drugs. You receive a detailed guide once your place is confirmed.
Can I come as a couple?
Yes, double rooms are available at the same price per person.
How do I pay and what if my plans change?
A US$500 deposit secures your place (bank transfer or PayPal; in Peru also Yape/Plin). If screening advises against participation, the deposit is refunded in full. If you cancel, it transfers to any S.A.N.Y. retreat within 12 months.
Is ayahuasca legal in Peru?
Yes. Ayahuasca has been recognized as National Cultural Heritage of Peru since 2008 and traditional ceremonies are legal. Check the rules of your own country for travel.
