Maestro Chonon Sany

Chonon Sany was born in the Russian Far East. He graduated with honors from Pacific State Medical University in general surgery (2013) and completed a residency in neurosurgery at the N. N. Burdenko Neurosurgery Institute in Moscow (2013–2015).

This training shapes how he works today: every guest is screened personally for contraindications, medications and health history before a place is confirmed.

The path of plants

In 2013 he began his apprenticeship in the plant medicine of the Shipibo-Konibo people of the Peruvian Amazon, and in 2015 he moved to Peru. He trained with maestros Guillermo Arévalo, Pascual Mahua Ochavano and Melquíades Vela, completing long plant diets in the jungle.

He holds the title of Maestro Onaya, recognized by CoshiCox, the Shipibo community organization. Since 2023 he has also been trained and initiated in the Andean Q'eros tradition, holding the title of Pampa Misayoq.

Work in Peru

He served as director of UniRao Ecolodge in Pucallpa and helped create the Ayahuasca Museum at Cordillera Escalera Ecolodge in Tarapoto. Through S.A.N.Y. Luxury Retreats he leads small-group retreats in Tarapoto, Pucallpa and the Sacred Valley of Cusco.

He is the author of the book “El Llamado del Camino” (The Call of the Path), bridging the Shipibo, Andean and Dzogchen traditions. He speaks Russian, Spanish and English; English-speaking groups are also supported with translation.
